What We Do
We can do all kinds of transcription (English) from typed to audio, but our specialty is handwritten historical documents, such as letters, journals and other handwritten records, certificates and missives. Janine began transcribing with her 3rd Great Grandfathers journals written while he was in Andersonville during the American Civil War, and has since worked on many documents and journals. While speed is important,we pride ourselves more on accuracy. That being said, we charge on a per word basis rather than a per minute or hour rate so that the work is never based on speed and you can always see the word count (in Microsoft Word) so you never need to wonder if the charge was fair. One hour of written or recorded information can take eight hours, even more, to transcribe, depending on the variables involved, such as legibility of the writing or speaking, the number of people talking, the age and condition of the documents and so forth, so we feel the per word rate is the fairest for our clients.
